What to expect:
One of the least studied, understood, and even lesser-trained concepts in the world of reality-based personal defense are the seconds right before a physical assault occurs. This is primarily because students train in personal defense or martial arts (there is a difference) with the assumption of inevitability rather than the understanding of the importance of awareness, avoidance, and de-escalation.
If you can avoid a situation, avoid it, period. It’s safer for you at the end of the day if you’re able to just walk away BEFORE things get physical. When you open “the box marked violence” you don’t know what you’ll find inside it. Needless to say, if we can leave this box closed then that would certainly be the best decision.
This then though begs the question:
How do we know when a situation is about to escalate into physical violence?
The study of the answer to this ominous question is the driving force behind this eBook.
