These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website located at combativewarriorarts.com (the "Site") and your participation in classes, training, seminars, and services offered by the Academy of Combative Warrior Arts (A.C.W.A.), located at 1740 North Greenville Ave, Richardson, TX 75081 ("A.C.W.A.," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site or enrolling in any A.C.W.A. class, trial, or program, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or our services.
By accessing this Site, booking a trial class, or enrolling in any A.C.W.A. program, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, or are the parent or legal guardian of a minor enrolling in our programs, and that you have the authority to agree to these Terms on your own behalf or on behalf of that minor.
A.C.W.A. provides reality-based self-defense and combatives instruction, including but not limited to adult self-defense classes, women's self-defense classes, kids' bully defense classes, private lessons, corporate training, and seminars. Class schedules, formats, and instructors are subject to change at our discretion, and we will make reasonable efforts to notify students of any material changes.
Self-defense and combatives training involves physical contact, simulated conflict scenarios, and physical exertion, and carries an inherent risk of injury. By participating in any A.C.W.A. class, trial, or event, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume all risks associated with this type of training, whether known or unknown.
Before participating in any physical training, all students (or a parent/guardian, for minors) are required to sign a separate liability waiver and release form provided by A.C.W.A. That signed waiver is a required condition of participation and works together with these Terms — nothing in these Terms replaces or limits the waiver you sign in person.
You represent that you are physically able to participate in self-defense and combatives training, or that you have consulted a physician regarding your fitness to do so. A.C.W.A. instructors are not medical professionals, and nothing taught in class should be construed as medical advice. If you have a pre-existing injury, medical condition, or are pregnant, please notify your instructor before class and consult your physician beforehand.
Trial classes may be offered at a reduced rate or free of charge, at A.C.W.A.'s discretion, and are limited to one trial per individual unless otherwise stated. Ongoing enrollment, membership, and private lesson pricing will be disclosed to you prior to purchase. Payment is due according to the terms presented at the time of enrollment.
A.C.W.A. offers a two-week, 100% money-back guarantee to new students: if, after two weeks of active participation, you feel you have not learned anything new or gained confidence, we will refund 100% of your tuition upon request. This guarantee applies to new student enrollments only and does not apply to private lessons, seminars, corporate training, merchandise, or non-refundable event fees unless stated otherwise at the time of purchase.
Ongoing program cancellation requests are handled under our 2-month notice paid cancellation policy: to cancel an ongoing program, you must provide at least two months' written notice, and payment obligations continue during that notice period. Please contact us directly to discuss your situation.
All students are expected to treat instructors, staff, and fellow students with respect. A.C.W.A. reserves the right to remove any individual from a class, program, or the Site — without refund, where permitted by law — for conduct that is unsafe, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise disruptive to the training environment.
The techniques and tactics taught by A.C.W.A. are intended solely for lawful self-defense purposes. You agree not to use any technique, tactic, or knowledge gained through our training to initiate violence, intimidate others, or engage in any unlawful conduct. A.C.W.A. is not responsible for how a student chooses to apply training outside of the academy.
All content on this Site — including text, graphics, logos, photos, and video — is the property of A.C.W.A. or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. You may view and share content from this Site for personal, non-commercial purposes, but may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from it without our prior written consent.
A.C.W.A. may photograph or video classes and events for use in marketing materials, social media, and this Site. By participating in class, you consent to such use unless you notify us in writing that you do not wish to be photographed or recorded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, A.C.W.A., its owners, instructors, and staff shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or participation in our programs. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit liability in any way that is not permitted under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless A.C.W.A., its owners, instructors, and staff from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or your participation in our programs, except to the extent caused by our own negligence or willful misconduct.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site or continued enrollment in our programs after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
